| Access Committee
The Access Committee provides a forum where equal access to all facilities and services within our local government area is not only considered, but incorporated into any strategic planning. It also discusses broader disability and accessibility related issues to ensure that the Great Lakes region is inclusive, accessible and equitable to all members of the community.
The Committee's role is to:
- strive to ensure equity and accessibility is provided through services and facilities;
- promote through advocacy, within Council and the wider community, a positive awareness of disability issues;
- encourage and support initiatives that promote equal access opportunities in the Great Lakes;
- assist in educating the community to create greater access awareness.
