Community Development is the process of making a better community.

It aims to develop people's commitment and skills, to build upon community strengths to address problems and take advantage of potential opportunities. All in the process of building our community on a local level, with an emphasis on economic development, whilst forging and strengthening social ties, and developing the non profit sector.

Great Lakes Council's Community Services section works in close partnership with the many different sections of our community, working in a wide variety of ways to achieve these aims.
