Forster/Tuncurry Housing Strategy

The aim of the Strategy is to provide detailed information relating to housing supply and demand (including the housing needs of the future population) and to use this to decisions on:

  • Residential densities in new and future urban areas
  • Changes to residential zones
  • Residential lot sizes and building controls
  • Neighbourhood design
  • Type and means of providing more affordable housing.

Council adopted the Forster/Tuncurry Housing Strategy subject to amendments on 12 December 2006. The most significant amendments relate to the future investigation of rezonings on the corner of Lake & Hadley Street; in the Fairways Precinct; and adjoining Stocklands.
