One Mile Beach Forster

One Mile Beach runs south-south-east from Bennetts Head for 1.3km to a prominent southern headland. It is also home to Cape Hawke Surf Club. Contray to popular belief, the name One Mile Beach, is derived from it's distance from Forster Post Office, not the length of the beach.  The beach is fringed by residential housing, Forster Golf Course and Palmgrove Park.

Cape Hawke Surf Club is situated at the southern end of the beach, which also houses a fully stocked kiosk during the summer months (October to April). This beach is patrolled during the swimming season (October to April) by both professional life guards (during school holidays) and by volunteer surf life savers on weekends and public holidays.

Car parking and public toilets are located at the southern end of the beach, adjacent to the surf club, as well as in the middle section of the beach at Collendina Park, off Underwood Road.
