ABS - (Australian Bureau of Statistics)

Do you know the latest population of Great Lakes?
How many Australians got married last year?
Which nationalities are immigrating to Australia?

The answers to these questions and lots more are available at the Great Lakes Library.
Great Lakes Library is a part of the Australian Bureau of Statistics LEP (Library Extension Program). This means that statistics affecting you or your family can be found in our ABS collection. We also have statistics for high school assignments, businesses setting up in the area, or community watchdogs keeping track of government investments.

Is your salary keeping up with inflation?

Access the latest CPI (Consumer Price Index) figures & find out!
The ABS collection can be accessed during Library hours or by phoning (02) 6591 7330 if you can’t get to the library in time.

LIAC (Legal Information Access Centre)

Information on all types of law for all types of people, in plain English....and it’s free!

LIAC began on 30 April 1990 at the State Library of Sydney. It is a joint project of the Law Foundation and State Library of NSW. Its’ aim is to provide access to legal information for anyone who needs it. It has achieved this by creating Mini LIACS all over NSW & providing them with a legal toolkit as well as guides, dictionaries, commentaries & original legislation.

Great Lakes Library is a mini LIAC. We have all types of legal information in a variety of formats, for example, pamphlets, books, videos and book cassettes. We also have access to AUSTLII, a legal database on the Internet. AUSTLII has legislation and cases and is continuously updated., We also have direct access to LIAC in Sydney.

Whatever your legal information need, Great Lakes Library can provide the answers! Contact us on (02) 6591 7330 or phone LIAC (Sydney) direct (02) 9230 1558.
