Membership
Membership is free to Permanent residents and ratepayers of the Great Lakes
Council Area and adjoining council areas. Adults (16 years and over) need to
show proof of identity and current address. Children need a parent/guardian
to authorise their membership by showing the parent/guardian's identification.
Your membership card must be presented to borrow items and may be used
at any of our branches.
Visitors are also welcome to join - As a visitor there are two
options:
Temporary Member (Forster & Tea Gardens)
- This type of membership will suit the one-off visitor. It requires
payments of $20 Deposit
(refundable when all items and card are returned to library in person), plus
a $5.50 service fee (non-refundable). Identification showing name
and current address required.
Reciprocal Member - With this membership you will be issued with a Great
Lakes Library Service card which can be used whenever you come back to the Great
Lakes Area (Expires after 4 years of inactivity). Identification
required for this type of membership is: Your current library card from your
home public library, plus other ID with name and current address e.g.
Drivers Licence, Pension Card.
Borrowing Limits
You may borrow up to 15 items at a time. (only 6 video titles, 6 PlayStation games and
6 DVDs within the limit of 15).
Loans are for 14 days. Overdue fines are charged for late returns,
so please extend your items when they are due if needed.
Extensions
Extensions can be made by telephone (6591 7256), presenting your card at the Loans
counter or via our online
catalogue - member services. You may have up to two
extensions on an item, if there are no reserves on that item.
