Researching family history and genealogy has become a very popular pastime in Australia. Great Lakes Council's Forster Library, through the Family History Advisory Group, has a range of resources that can provide you with valuable information in your quest for family history. These resources include:
- One to one assistance;
- Beginner Genealogy kits;
- Births, Deaths & Marriages Indices
- Free access to 'Ancestry on the Internet';
- Reference books;
- Cemetery records;
- Convict records;
- Microfiche and Microreader records.
Skilled and enthusiastic volunteers are also available to assist you in your family history investigations at the following times:
- Tuesday and Thursday - 10.00am to 12 noon
- Wednesday and Friday - 1.00pm to 3.00pm
This is a free service.
The Manning-Wallamba Family History Society has also produced a number of cemetery records publications that are available for purchase and/or use at Council's libraries.
