Youth Week
National Youth Week is an annual, joint Australian Government, State, Territory and local Government initiative.
Youth Week aims to:
- Provide an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 25 to express their ideas and views, raise issues of concern to them, act on issues which affect their lives, and create and enjoy a range of entertainment.
- Provide an opportunity for the wider community to listen to young people and to both acknowledge and celebrate the positive contributions made by their efforts and achievements.
- Promote a community focus on issues of concern to young people.

Youth and Mental Health
Worried about yourself, someone you know or about youth and mental health in the Great Lakes? There are a variety of ways to provide input and seek information, advice or assistance;
Headspace Mid-North Coast - Assists young people aged 12-25 who have emerging mental health and substance use issues. For more information go to www.headspace.org.au/midnorthcoast or phone 02 6652 7379.
Youth Beyondblue - Is all about getting the message out there that it's okay to talk about depression, and to encourage young people and their family and friends to get help when it's needed. One in five young Australians experience depression each year, and more than half of those aren't getting the professional help they need to get through it.
