Pets

Owning a pet is a source of much pleasure for many people in the community - it's also a big responsibility!  Here you can find information about how to be a responsible animal owner and to avoid disputes with your neighbours, along with information for those bothered by barking dogs and nuisance pets.

For a comprehensive guide to pet ownership in the Great Lakes, please refer to Council's Companion Animal Management Plan.

Changing address?

All dogs and cats must be microchipped and registered by law and correct address and contact details must be kept up to date.  If you move during the life of your cat or dog, you will need to complete the Department of Local Government's Change of Address C3 Form and submit that in person or by post to Council.
