The Local Government Act provides ratepayers with the opportunity to pay their rate assessments either in full or by four quarterly instalments. Instalment dates are regulated and as such are the same for all Councils throughout NSW.
- Payment of the full amount or the first instalment due 31 August
- Second Instalment due 30 November
- Third Instalment due 28 February
- Fourth Instalment due 31 May
In regard to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Instalments, Council will issue an instalment notice at least one month prior to the due date.

Payments can be made by Visa Card or MasterCard, payment by other credit cards will not be accepted.

Ratepayers should be aware that Council has resolved to pass the merchant service fee on to the user. The merchant service fee currently applicable to payments via this service is .58 of one percent including GST.

Payment can be made at any Great Lakes Council Office. Office hours are:

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. The merchant service fee is payable on credit card payments.
Cash, cheque and debit card payments can also be made at Bulahdelah Rural Transaction Centre.

TELEPHONE PAYMENTS
Payment can be made using credit cards by telephoning 1300 858 977. Ratepayers will need to know their assessment number. Please note that the user will be liable for the merchant service fee.
