Great Lakes Council can provide your business with a standard commercial service which comprises of a 240L red lid rubbish bin and a 240L yellow lid recycling bin.  Both bins are collected weekly in  most CBD areas, all other business's will receive a fortnightly recycling collection and a weekly rubbish collection. 

There are further options for additional bins or additional collections if required.  Alternatively, bulk skip bin services are available for rubbish and recycling disposal by approved contractors.  It is recommended you contact Council's Waste Management staff who will provide information and advice on your specific needs.

Waste Water Dump Points

The following information relates to waste water disposal sites for motor homes, campervans, buses, caravans and other users of portable toilets and waste holding tanks.

Great Lakes Council has black and grey water dump points located in various areas for your convenience.  It is illegal to dump or dispose of grey and black water into the environment other than at a dump point or at an approved septic tank location under the 'Protecton of the Environment Operations Act, 1997'.  If grey or black water is not disposed of or contained correctly, it can hav significant impacts on the health and safety of many people and to the environment.

Black and grey water contain a wide variety of pathogens that may pose a significant health hazard for you, those travelling with you and others who will use the dump point facilities after you.  It is important to follow operating instuctions at all dump points to avoid these issues.  Heavy fines apply if you are caught illegally dumping or disposing of grey and black water waste.
