Membership is free to permanent residents and ratepayers of the Great Lakes area and adjoining council areas. In becoming a member, you agree to abide by the Library Rules.
Adults (18 yrs+) need to show proof of identity and current address.
Youth (16-18yrs) need to show proof of identity and current address OR have a parent/guardian authorise their membership by showing the parent/guardian's identification.
Children (under 16) need a parent/guardian to authorise their membership by showing the parent/guardian's identification.
Note: The library is not responsible for children left unattended.
Your membership card must be presented to borrow items.
Items can be borrowed from any library branch, and returned to any library branch within the Great Lakes Library Service.
How many items can I borrow? You may borrow up to 15 items at a time.
How long may I have them? Loans are for 3 weeks. After-hours chutes available at Tea Gardens, Forster, Bulahdelah and Nabiac
Libraries.
Am I charged if I have overdue items or have damaged or lost an item? Yes. Overdue fines are charged for late returns. Please
ask for an extension if needed (see below). You will need to pay for damaged or lost items.

You can extend or renew items by telephone (6591 7256), visiting a library branch, or online via our Member Services
you may have one extension on items borrowed. Items reserved cannot be extended.

All items in the Great Lakes Library Service collection may be reserved. Items can be collected at your preferred branch.
A nominal fee may apply.
Reservations can be made at all branches or online through our Catalogue Search. Please ask the staff for details.
