Book Clubs

The library has an extensive range of book sets that local book clubs can access.  The service has been running successfully for 4years now and most book clubs in the area are enthusiastic participants.

To gain access to the service a book club only has to make a contribution of one book title a year, up to the number of members in their club.  For example, a book club with 12 members would donate 12 copies of one title once a year.  This then gains the club full access to all the titles in the collection, which is growing strongly each year and is now approaching 100 box sets.

To find out what titles are in the collection you can simply go to our library catalogue on this web site and under the search field type in: great lakes book clubs

Each year we also hold a function that we invite all book clubs to attend.  In the past we have had some great guest speakers, including Regina Sutton - State Librarian, Authors Gabrielle Carey and Deborah Adelaide and Futurist Oliver Freeman and this year will be no different.  To find out more about this check out our News and Highlights section.
